To movie a SoundFont up or down,highlight it in the list and use the corresponding arrow buttons below.When converting or playing your MIDI file, MIDI Converter Studio tries tofind necessary instruments in the topmost SoundFont package. If some instrumentsaren't there, the program tries the second SoundFont package in the list, and soon until all instruments are found and can be rendered. Thus it's a prioritylist, and the topmost SoundFont package has the highest priority.This feature allows you customizing instrument sets. You are not limited tothe ready-made sets anymore.MIDI Converter Studio supports SF2, SF, SF2PACK SoundFont files. If you get aSoundFont packed with some other SoundFont archive manager (like sfArk), youshould extract it first.
Then open it at the 'SoundFonts' tab, as describedabove.with SoundFonts is simple, very quick, and it doesn't dependon your sound card's capabilities. You can produce music of professional qualityon a system with just an ordinary sound card.After loading a SoundFont into the program, use to check whatyour MIDI files will sound like with it.
If you have a compatible soundfont soundcard like Creative SB Live!/Audigy/Audigy2, and you are using the Creative soundcard drivers, you can go to Options/Soundfonts on the toolbar in SONAR, and load soundfonts by selecting attach and browsing to the soundfont you want to load. Select a MIDI track and set its output to one of the MIDI synths, then, select input, channel, bank (select the soundfont you just attached through the Options/Soundfont dialog), and Patch. That's it.If you dont have a compatible soundfont soundcard, you can use a softsynth or sampler to play soundfonts as adrianplunkett said.

Ok, Unfortunately, I get a message saying 'Not Enough SoundFont memory to load the soundfonts'The soundfont is about 22MB. Does anyone know why SONAR is giving me this kind of error?Alanare you loading it into VSampler? Or into your Audigy? I seem to remember that the Audigy has a limit to the size of soundfonts you can load. If you are loading into Audigy, try loading into VSampler instead, or vice versa.Sorry I can't be more helpful, but I don't have an Audigy, but I did once have an EMU APS and IT had a size limit.
Anyway, hope that helps a little. I wouldn't recommend the kX drivers unless you're 100% sure you know what you're doing. I found that out the hard way!!!If all you do is music then they are fine, but, if the PC is used for gaming you'll miss the EAX support. As far as latency is concerned, I haven't really noticed any latency with my system yet using the creative WDM and ASIO drivers, but, I don't really record live. I was noticing some latency when using the sfz software in conjunction with the midiOx software, but when I found the ASIO control panel I was able to turn the latency down to 7 without any noticeable problems.however, I'm still new at most of this, so maybe I'll find the advantages at a later point in time.Still, I'd learn the very basics before downloading and installing kX. This may or may not be the problem with the memory error, but check this:If he has a very large SF loaded in his Main Synth bank in the Creative SF manager, and then tries to load another large one in Sonar, it may not have enough memory. Delete the Main Synth one, replace it with the large GM one (or put in a small 2 MG one), and there should be plenty of memory left.
The red bar will tell you how much is used and free.If I'm using instruments-specific SFs, (just drums, just piano, etc.), I leave a small 2 MG SF there. Game of thrones war of the five kings. Then I can replace any of those instruments with other ones, and still hear basically what happens. At the end, I may put a larger, better sounding GM SF, if I have enough memory left.which I usually do. Or, I can just use all individual instruments.When I get all that I want, I may even take all the individual instruments and make a SF set named for that tune. (Then I know what was used).Shoehorn.
