Dragon Age Origins Friendly Fire Mod
Lower the game difficulty.' Allies take no damage on Easy and Normal on console, half damage on Hard, and full damage on Nightmare. On PC, allies take no damage on Easy, half damage on Normal, and full damage on Hard and Nightmare.' From DAO WikiAlternatively, use a dwarf warrior with spell resistance gear (Spellward, Key to the City, Mark of Vigilance, Spellweaver, Cinch of Skillful Maneuvering, and Dweomer Runes) and activate Indomitable talent. You can also cast Anti-Magic Ward on the tank.
Or, Force Field. Another option is Glyph of Neutralization, but just be sure the mages stay out of it.In Awakening Expansion, the tank can become a Spirit Warrior with high spell resistance and dodge. Or, a rogue with Legionnaire Scout specizliation can activate Strength of Stone with Blessing of the Ancestors upgrade to be completely immune to spells. For the mages, be careful of Storm of the Century combo-spell, since it has double the radius of the components, so the casters can get caught inside its AOE. You misunderstand, probably due to me being unclear. That doesn't work. That is the problem.
Due to changes in the damage protocols in patch 1.3 spells from your party aren't affected by spell resistance. Thus your three storm of the century are very lethal to your tank. No matter him having 100% spell resistance.(Me and my friend found the problem, tested it's cause and researched when it appeared. We found that it was added in patch 1.3 and due to the impossibility that it is to downpatch in steam we search for alternate sollutions).

@Sidju, Q: what's patch 1.3?The only official patches for DA: Origins are 1.01, 1.02, 1.03, 1.04, and 1.05. And, looking at the PatchNotes in the game's docs directory, there is no mention of changes to party members' elemental or spell resistances.I also checked Ability Mechanics, Combat Mechanics, and Resistances pages on DAO Wiki. There is no mention of alteration to the game with regard to spell resistance or if an ally is always going to be damaged or affected by friendly fire.I just loaded up my DAO UE game (v1.05).
On Easy difficulty setting, my Cone Of Cold, Shock, Flame Blast, Fireball, Blizzard, Tempest, Inferno, and Storm of the Century do no damage to any party member. Except for secondary effects, such as frozen and knockdown.Swiching back to Nightmare difficulty initiated damages right away, but Spirit Warrior and Legionnaire Scout resisted damages from spells using their talents. And, Anti-Magic Ward, Force Field, or Glyph of Neutralization negated all spell damages and effects (friendly or enemy), indicated by 'Spell Immunity' or 'No Effect'.Maybe you have a third-party mod that mess with the spell damages & effects.Unless, you are talking about DA2. In Patch 1.03 for DA2, there is a combat tweak to armor and elemental resistances, where the max is 95%, no longer 100%. So, there will always be some damage from an attack even if stat screen shows 100%. (I'm not familiary with DA2, so I can't comment what talent or spells to provide full immunity.)In DA: Inquisition, apparently there was an exploit for user to take no damage. It was fixed in patch 2. Ok, you are relying solely on Spell Resistance.Well, I found an obscure note about it in DAO Wiki.
Correction to my last: Spell Resistance will not triggered against party members' spells; only hostile spells. It also doesn't check against non-spell-based elemental attacks, i.e. Grenades, coatings, traps, etc. And, no, I didn't find any mod that'd activate spell resist check on friendly fire.Anyway, in your case, I'd increase elemental resistances by gear or herbal balms, thereby, reducing direct & DoT elemental damages.Or, just cast Anti-Magic Ward, Force Field, or Glyph of Neutralization on your tank.Alternatively, freeze/paralyze the enemies at a distance (Paralysis Explosion with 2 glphs combo or Mass Paralysis), then, cast AoE spells. No need to put any companions in danger. But, it's inside a larger compilation mod (JX - Dragon Age Extended), which requires another mod (Combat Tweaks). Both heavily change game mechanics, and the fact that you need a GDA editor and know to how to edit them safely, I wouldn't recommend either. Here's the link, in case you are curious:Search for 'Universal Spell Resistance' in the info page. And is there any other effect in them that you recommend using? (In consideration to my goal of making the game effects more true to their names and making the pc game closer to the console version). Turn off all tactics on your main character, so you have no auto-attack. And, lower graphics resolution, texture, and anti-aliasing.:-P. Installing two complex mods and configuring them to my liking with a file format and program I've never come across before sounds like a lovely way to spend a day or two. I'm just wondering if they're configurable to that extent that I can disable all parts that I don't want so that I won't do it for naught.
I have already spent too many days examining and comparing this combo mod pack to see if I can separate out its components. No success. It uses both dazip and individual resource files.
Even by editing the gda config file to turn off all other possible mods to the dazip as stated in the readme file, there are other undesirable alterations to the game. I noticed them when I examined the mod files. Besides its semi-configurable capability (which will cause conflicts with my other mods), I also don't like the addition of so many other mods, which changes the core game too much to make it a different game, i.e. Balder's Gate spells, Final Fantasy jobs/award points, Lycantrophy curse, way too may new specializations, talents, spells, over-powered shapeshifting forms, changes to weapon, armor, potions, etc.I don't mind simple bug fixes to game mechanics (haste/swift salve attack speed stacking error, Arrow of Slaying damage miscalculation, Healing Received item property) and to dialogue / plot options. Or, removing annoyances (buffs on party member changes & revivals or sustained spell/talent visual graphics) or helping with gameplay (auto-loot, display received items). See Qwinn's DAO Fixpack and Gastank's DAO Rules Fixpack. Qwinn made sure that his mod has lower priority to prevent conflicts, while GT's mod is all modular for easy plug-n-play.
Friendly Fire Shoes
I recommend both.
Thanks,You may have tried that already but just in case, have you tried the launch the game in compatibility mode? For Dragon Age: Origins selecting XP Service Pack 3 is the best option.Other than that I'm afraid I'm not the most tech savvy head on this forum and I can't really think of anything else. I'll let the Problem signature here for further analysis.Problem signature:P1: daorigins.exeP2: 1.5.13263.0P3: 52164c37P4: daorigins.exeP5: 1.5.13263.0P6: 52164c37P7: c0000005P8: 0006e69cP9:P10. Silly question, but did your reinstall involve new saves and not loading older saves that you know give you the issue?I am just wondering if you have some kind of corrupt save files.Otherwise, I am not someone who can help much. Just the only thing I was thinking of when I read this.In games like this I usually end up with over a thousand saves.
Because I am nuts, and save after and before I do anything. LolOnce I had a corrupt save and had to revert to an earlier save to get it to work. So I thought maybe I would mention it.EDIT: Oh and try and turn off Origin in game.Right click game, game properties, option in there.Worth a shot. If is my save corrupt then that would mean that every game i ever started every new save everything is corrupt:D because no matter how many times do i start i allways get trouble at that starting warden location ostagar i managed to crash through ostagar and get inside the tower where i have to light the fire in the tower the crashing stopped i think i just need to get the hell away from ostagar as soon as possible the problem is that i still have the DLC return to ostagar so i will have to go back there later:D that will probably give me a heart attack.
